As Epic’s President and culture keeper, Shane is a thought leader, cultivating community development, strategic partnerships and client relationships. The 40-year Okanagan resident prides himself on recruiting and mentoring the real estate industry’s top performers, growing Epic’s high-performance team by more than 300 per cent in less than a year to accommodate the company’s rapid growth. Shane’s expertise in product design, hands-on experience in development, and deep understanding of the Okanagan market ensure that all new projects are well-positioned to be profitable and sell through successfully. He values collaborating with developer partners to navigate risk and create thoughtfully designed industry-leading new home communities.

Over the past 23 years, Shane has harnessed his passion and expertise for real estate marketing and sales, travelling the world and gaining invaluable international experience in luxury and resort real estate markets. Career highlights include working with renowned five-star hotel brands Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons and Oberoi, and living abroad in Bangkok as Managing Director for an Asian-based real estate firm. In the first nine months of his tenure at Epic, Shane oversaw $250 million in real estate sales, contributing to his career cumulative of $2 billion.

Fun Fact: Shane was a professional windsurfer when he was just twelve years old.

Curt brings over 23 years of senior leadership and western Canadian real estate experience to Epic’s client management, market research, corporate branding and operations. He leads and mentors Epic’s project marketing and operations teams, focusing on creating a streamlined and scalable corporate structure while promoting continuous improvement and innovation to produce best-in-class marketing programs and industry-leading sales results. Curt is a life-long learner who believes that exceptional results come from hiring great people, helping them grow through mentoring and coaching, and removing their barriers to success.

Throughout Curt’s professional career, he’s held senior-level roles and consulted with top developers and builders in western Canada. In addition to selling $1.5 billion in real estate, ranging from townhome projects to master-planned communities and large multi-family projects across BC and Alberta, Curt has been recognized with over 40 Georgie and SAM awards for excellence in real estate sales and marketing. He is a Google certified digital marketer who holds strategic leadership certificates from Cornell University and UBC Sauder School of Business and marketing diplomas with honours from BCIT and Douglas College.

Fun Fact: Mixology is a hobby of Curt’s, and on a recent trip to Maui, he toured the island’s top hotels and restaurants, searching for the perfect Mai Tai. After sampling more than 20, he crowned the Ritz Carlton Kapalua signature Mai Tai as the winner.

For Director of Sales Melissa Aulenback, maximizing developer partners’ profits is the ultimate goal. In addition to managing the company’s leading new home sales team, Melissa oversees project pricing and sales contracts and advises on product mix and floorplan optimization. Her entrepreneurial spirit aligns well with Epic’s culture, always striving for success while valuing and nurturing relationships with coworkers and developer partners.

Over the past 15-years, Melissa has owned and operated a successful brokerage and managed large, multi-region real estate sales teams across Western Canada. Her innovative approach and strategic sales management style are motivational, inspiring the Epic team from the board room to the sales floor.

Fun Fact: Melissa is a Reiki Master who has been honing her practice for eight years.

Cultivating strong client and supplier relationships and managing all aspects of Epic’s developer partner’s marketing programs are Cheryl’s primary focuses as Marketing Manager. She prides herself on being exceptionally organized and building trust with her clients, vendors and coworkers through her open and honest communication and collaborative approach. Cheryl is always a team player and leads by example, treating those around her with kindness, respect and an infectiously positive attitude.

With a formal education in business administration and ten-plus years of customer service and management experience, Cheryl brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. She’s also Epic’s longest-standing employee, having first worked under the company more than a decade ago.

Fun Fact: Cheryl loves exploring the outdoors — hiking, snowshoeing, and taking road trips to discover BC’s beautiful small towns — with her young English Lab, Gus!

Alana oversees developer marketing programs, effectively managing critical paths and relationships with clients, external vendors and her internal team. She’s passionate about bringing Epic’s developer partner’s vision to life through strategic brand creation and formulating a deadline-driven plan of action to ensure every launch is successful. Lana approaches all projects with a positive ‘let’s make it happen’ attitude. She loves being part of the Epic family because she feels valued and believes in the company’s people-first philosophy.

Lana brings over four years of direct real estate experience, having worked on new home launches for condominium, townhome and luxury resort communities throughout the Okanagan and the Shuswap. She earned a Business Administration Diploma, specializing in Marketing, from Okanagan College and a Post Graduate Diploma in Corporate Communications and Public Relations from Centennial College in Toronto.

Fun Fact: Lana used to be a competitive swimmer, and the drama of her sneezes rivals her darling pug Lola’s.

As Marketing Manager, Deepa develops and executes Epic’s developer partner’s project launches, including leading campaign ideation and overseeing creative development. Having immigrated to Canada from India, she’s adept at understanding multiple perspectives, adjusting to change, staying calm in high-stress situations and bringing empathy, adaptability and resiliency to her role. Deepa believes in a people-centric approach, always leading with kindness and compassion.

Career highlights before joining Epic include launching a successful marketing campaign for a fashion start-up in India, leading public relations for a well-known hospitality brand, and overseeing the marketing programs for a local Okanagan developer. Deepa’s MA in Public Relations & Communications from Cardiff University, UK, and MBA from Vancouver Island University, Nanaimo, complement her extensive work experience.
